Welcome to Lovecommacancer!
A cancer diagnosis is a kick in the gut. Your world spins and you feel like you’re floating in outer space, but at some point you have to land back on earth and start putting one foot in front of the other. Although it was my husband who was diagnosed with cancer, we were both spinning, each in our own way. My husband threw himself into his work and I threw myself into researching everything from how to help our daughter best cope with her dad’s illness to how to make the best lip balm for chapped “chemo” lips. We spent more time together as a family, went on more family outings, tried loads of new healthy recipes, played more board games, prayed more, and held our friends and family closer. I found that as awful and scary as cancer can be, it can serve as an incredible teacher.
So, think of this blog as a letter from cancer. As in, Dear Cancer Patient and Loved Ones, Please look closely through the special lens with which I will help you see your world.
Love, Cancer.
